There are compatibility issues between j5create drivers and Displaylink drivers. The displaylink site has instructions of how to do this for a windows machine but not for a mac. Select Macintosh HD. Select System. 4. Select Library. 5. Select Extensions. Find the following: MCTtrigger2.kext andor Trigger5Core.kext andor triggers.kext. If any of these three files exist, drag them to the trashcan. Reboot your computer and reinstall the driver from our website. ![]() So Im stuck until theres either an official uninstaller, or the consumer version of High Sierra becomes available, or theres an update to the j5Create driver (JUA350) that automatically removes old versions. Personally, I think anyone writing system extensions should include a took for removing their own extensions. Step one is to remove them from candidates to be incorporated when the System starts up, and then Restart to get a new System (without these extensions). The only thing you can do is MOVE them to the Trash as the first part of this multi-step process. A MOVE on the same drive system simply changes Directory entries -- the files are not replicated or deleted, and they remain part of the current running system even as they sit in the Trash. When they are no longer in an Extensions Folder, they will not be incorporated in the newly running system the next time it is Restarted. Only when they are NOT part of the running system can the Trash be emptied. ![]() I just tried to move triggers.kext to the Desktop, and it was copied instead, leaving the original file - which Im trying to remove - firmly in place. I just tried renaming triggers.kext to triggers.OLD (via the Finder, and via NameChanger), and I cant rename the file. Long story short, the file is simply there now, and it can not be removed, relocated, renamed, deleted, etc. Apple may provide or recommend responses as a possible solution based on the information provided; every potential issue may involve several factors not detailed in the conversations captured in an electronic forum and Apple can therefore provide no guarantee as to the efficacy of any proposed solutions on the community forums.
